Classes Offered:

 

Dancemakers offers the following classes -

Pre-school (3yrs)
The Preschool Program is designed as a compilation of the 3 primary dance disciplines as well as basic music and theater skills.  Elementary skills from each discipline are introduced with age appropriate music and designed to encourage artistic expression, physical and cognitive growth.

Creative Dance (4yrs)
An extension of the Preschool Program this class introduces the next level of technical skills.  Children are encouraged to explore their creative nature while at the same time age specific educational techniques are employed to encourage both physical and cognitive development.

(5yrs)
Designed to better develop comprehensive body strength, motor skills and musicality, the 5 year old classes include a higher level of technical skills as well as the introduction of tap shoes to better enhance the development of rhythm and musicality.

Preparatory Dance (1st &2nd grade)
For the first and second grade student this class is the precursor to the Conservatory Program.  The focus of this class is geared more toward muscle and motor development.  These students will learn the fundamentals of classical Jazz Technique as well as Tap skills.

Ballet Technique
Considered to be the foundation of superior dance training these classes are designed for beginning through advanced dancers, Ballet is the most demanding of the dance forms. Students will learn proper body alignment, traditional ballet technique and the grace of motion while at the same time building muscle tone and strength.  Under the teachers direction a student who continues to study Ballet technique will eventually advance into the Pointe Program.  Click here for more information on our Pointe Readiness.

Tap
This class designed to teach coordination and rhythm skills. As dancers progress, steps will get increasingly more intricate and complex rhythm patterns will be explored.

Recreational Jazz
For beginners through High School and Adults, this class enhances flexibility and strength in a child while it incorporates strong, sharp, placed movements executed to today’s music.  Jazz develops agility and coordination while instilling a sense of rhythm and interpretation of music. Theater style choreography and hip hop style moves make this class a favorite.

Hip-Hop
Hip Hop combines a variety of elements of dance and music while giving the student freedom to “let loose”. This class offers a release to stress, develops of self-confidence, and encourages students to pursue dance as a fun, healthy lifestyle. Anyone can start, an experienced dancer or not.

Acrobatic/Tumbling
This class uses the “floor” work from gymnastics and incorporates the flexibility and control of “Cirque de Soile”!  Whether you want to enhance your dance ability through this beautiful sport or are after the next cheerleading all-star title this class will give you the skills you need to succeed,

Jazz Technique
Designed for the conservatory dancer these classes focus on the dynamic skills and abilities of those dancers that you see on Broadway, Television, Commercials and Music Videos.  Power, flexibility speed, special awareness, musicality, artistic expression, jumping and turning abilities are all various aspects of what are taught in these classes.  This is definitely the class for the person who wants to be an “artistic” athlete!

Lyrical
This is a style of jazz that has been fused with Ballet.  The slow, controlled movement is set to a variety of contemporary music which encourages artistic expression while building grace and fluidity of movement that will be carried with these students through out their lives.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY FITNESS CLASSES!
A family-friendly group fitness class that infuses cardiovascular, total body conditioning and absolute core strength exercises to provide an exciting approach for parents and kids to work out and get healthy together!
ZUMBA –A combination of high energy and motivating Latin style music with unique moves and combinations that allow the Zumba participant to dance away the calories while having a blast!
YOGA - A form of exercise that uses slow movements and stretching to increase flexibility and balance while also focusing on relieving stress and relaxing. Yoga has been used as a meditation technique for thousands of years.
