Tuition & Fees
Tuition payments are due the first week of each month. All payments must be made during the posted office hours in the Main Office Only. Teachers are NOT allowed to accept payments. There are no refunds, credits or transfers. In the event of an absence it is the parent and/or students responsibility to schedule a make up class. Payments may be made by Auto-pay, debit, credit card, check or cash. There is a one time $30 registration fee which may be used to reserve your place in class for the fall season. Recital and Costume Fees Vary from year to year and reflect the cost of the costuming and production expenses. NSF fees of $25 will be collected for any returned checks.
Absences & Make Up Classes
Excused Absences are given only in the case of extreme illness. If your child is absent you must notify the office in advance and arrange a make up class. There are no credits or transfers of tuition due to missed classes. Excessive absences will negatively affect your child's education and skill and may result in the re-evaluation and placement of your child's class level.
Withdrawals
You must notify the office in person the month prior to your withdrawal date to officially withdraw your child from Dancemakers. Once the appropriate paperwork is completed and your child is officially "dropped" from the studio your account is terminated and the tuition is suspended. If you do not officially withdraw from classes you will continue to be billed for tuition.
Dress Code
Dancemakers maintains a strict dress code. In addition to making it possible for the teachers to insure proper execution of body placement, technique and muscular development, there is a distinct improvement in upper body carriage and presentation when a child is properly dressed and groomed. We appreciate your efforts in 'styling" your child's hair each week for class. We have added some helpful tips on how to master the "perfect ballet bun".
Studio Rules
Dancemakers is a Private Performing Arts Academy. We feel the standards of behavior are an important part of our student’s education and ask that proper studio etiquette be followed.
- No Gum, Food or Drinks are allowed in the classrooms or lobby (water only)
- Arrive early to be prepared for class
- Proper dress code and hair are required
- Aggressive behavior or inappropriate language will not be tolerated
- Respect your teacher and each other at all times
Parent Responsibilities
We ask that parents be early to bring their child for class and prompt when it is time to pick them up after class. Not only are tardiness both before and after class an extreme breach of proper studio etiquette it also creates a serious safety hazard for your child.
Photo Release
Dancemakers reserves the right to use for advertising and marketing purposes any and all photographs or video’s taken during class, rehearsals or performances. A photo release is included on the registration form.
Observing Classes
Parents are welcome to observe classes from the lobby through the Viewing Windows. Always remember to respect the teacher’s authority by not interrupting the class by opening the door while it is in session.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are encouraged for those students who desire to elevate their technical skill level. You may request a specific teacher and every effort will be made to schedule a convenient time to accommodate your needs. All scheduling and payments must be made through Dancemakers' office.
Student Placement and Progression Policies
We make every attempt to ensure that each child is placed in the class or level that will create an atmosphere for optimum learning. Children are assessed by ability, maturity and dedication. Each child is placed in the Level that best suits their technical and emotional needs. Each level will typically consist of 2 to 3 academic grade levels. Students typically spend at least two years in each level. If you have any questions concerning your child's placement please contact the office for an appointment to speak with the Director.
Holidays
We do observe some Monday holidays throughout the year. Students may attend a free make up class any time during that semester. Please pick up a make up class form in the office for admittance into the class.
Food Policy
There are NO food or drinks (with the exception of water) allowed inside the studio or lobbies.
Recital
Our Musical Theater style recitals have become hugely anticipated events within the community. Recital takes place late in June. More information is available in the Recital Handbook which will be available in October.
